Artist producing graduate show at The Royal College of Art. Searching for a performer to act as part of a band of Mummer Players*

Searching for performers who are familiar with eccentric and revelrous English folk traditions- untrained, democratic and informal street events. To take part in an event that is something between the mechanicals of a Midsummer night’s dream, Monty python, and Panto,  performers with knowledge of Comedia del Arte, mask work, clowning etc will also find this project interesting.

The performance will be delivered to a large audience; the degree show attracts around 3000 on the opening night so the potential exposure is enormous.

There is a decent remuneration for expenses (£40 for 1 x 3 hour rehearsal and a 10 minute performance)

The performance will last no more than 10 minutes. Performers will need to commit to rehearsal, learning your lines and performing on the 20th June.

A series of Tea Parties are being hosted as part of the exhibition, ‘Future Pump House – Thoughts , Ideas and Plans’ At The Pump House Gallery, Battersea Park.

These Tea Parties  will aim to tell the fortune of the Pump House Gallery. Whilst engaging in the communal act of tea drinking with assembled visitors, artists, stakeholders and staff, a number of semi-purposeful spillages will be made. Through expert reading of the tea stains a vision for the future of the Pump House will emerge. The divination table cloth that will dress the table holds the answer to the interpretation of the tea stains. By referring to series of symbols that decorate the edge of the cloth the fortune teller and participants will be able to draw their predictions. By facilitating the tea party the artist/fortune teller will work towards a communal and agreed prediction of the fortune of the Pump House, this will allow the knowledge of the staff, artists, partners and visitors to be fed into the resulting fortune reading.
